Control Systems · Illustrative 3D Overview

Control Systems & PLC Engineering

PLC programming, SCADA integration, and industrial control systems that automate production, monitor processes, and give operators real-time visibility into plant operations.

Illustrative process · not live plant dataSensors send inputs to PLC logic, which controls machinery. Feedback returns to the controller.

What we engineer

Illustrative control loop: a sensor provides an input, the PLC evaluates its logic, and the plant responds. HMI and SCADA make the process visible to operators.

01

Process Instrumentation

Specification and integration of sensors, transmitters, and field instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and quality measurement.

02

PLC Programming & Logic Development

Ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and other major PLC platforms.

03

SCADA System Integration

Supervisory control and data acquisition systems that give operators real-time visibility into process variables, alarms, and production metrics.

LayerPhysical Infrastructure

Control systems sit at the intersection of physical infrastructure and operations — the layer where machinery, sensors, and logic converge.

When the PLC fails, the plant stops

Industrial control systems are the brain of any automated facility. When a PLC faults, a SCADA system loses connectivity, or a control program has a logic error, production halts immediately. Most Jamaican manufacturing and processing facilities rely on aging control systems with undocumented logic, obsolete hardware, and no backup programs — meaning a single hardware failure can take days to diagnose and repair, with every hour of downtime costing thousands in lost production.

  • Undocumented PLC programs — when the original integrator leaves, nobody knows how the logic works
  • Obsolete PLC hardware with no spare parts available locally
  • SCADA systems that have drifted out of sync with field instrumentation
  • No backup of control programs — a hardware failure means starting from scratch
  • Manual processes that could be automated but aren't, limiting throughput and consistency

This is important to

How we work

01

Audit

We survey your existing control systems, document current logic, identify obsolete hardware, and assess process automation gaps.

02

Design

We design control logic, instrumentation architecture, and SCADA/HMI interfaces tailored to your process requirements.

03

Implement

We program PLCs, build and wire control panels, integrate field instrumentation, and commission SCADA systems.

04

Support

We provide documentation, operator training, spare parts strategy, and ongoing support to keep your control systems running.

Platforms & standards

We work with the industrial control platforms most common in Jamaican manufacturing and utilities. Our engineering follows recognized industrial standards for safety, reliability, and maintainability. Every project includes full documentation — ladder logic printouts, I/O lists, panel drawings, and operating procedures — so your team is never dependent on the original integrator.

What is a PLC and why do I need one?+

A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is an industrial computer that automates machinery and processes. PLCs replace relay-based control panels with programmable logic, enabling complex sequencing, analog control, and data collection. If your facility has automated machinery, conveyors, pumps, or processing equipment, it likely runs on PLCs.

Can you modernize an old PLC system without losing our process logic?+

Yes. We audit your existing control system, extract and document the current logic, and migrate it to a current-generation PLC platform. We test the migrated logic against the original process requirements to ensure functional equivalence before cutover. This is one of our most common engagements — many Jamaican facilities are running PLCs that are 15-20 years old with no documentation.

What PLC brands do you work with?+

We work with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Siemens, and Mitsubishi — the three platforms most common in Jamaican industry. We are vendor-neutral and recommend the platform that best fits your existing infrastructure, spare parts availability, and support requirements.

Do you provide SCADA and HMI systems?+

Yes. We design and implement SCADA systems using Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Ignition, and custom web-based dashboards. We also design HMI screens that give operators clear visibility into process status, alarms, and production metrics. A well-designed SCADA system transforms raw PLC data into operational intelligence.

Can you integrate control systems with our existing IT infrastructure?+

Yes. We bridge the OT/IT divide by integrating control systems with your enterprise network, databases, and reporting platforms. This enables production data to flow from the plant floor to management dashboards, enabling data-driven decision-making. We handle the network segmentation, protocol conversion, and security considerations required for safe OT/IT integration.

Do you provide documentation and training?+

Yes. Every project includes full as-built documentation: ladder logic printouts, I/O lists, panel drawings, and operating procedures. We also provide operator training and maintenance training so your team can operate the system confidently and troubleshoot basic issues without calling us.

How much does a PLC control system cost in Jamaica?+

The cost depends on the complexity of the process, the number of I/O points, the PLC platform selected, and the SCADA/HMI requirements. A simple standalone PLC retrofit may be modest; a full plant automation project with SCADA is a significant capital investment. We provide detailed quotations after a site assessment.
